Training Room TV or Projecter

Written by David Hyndman on 29 September 2014

Hi

We are setting up a new training room for about 6 people and have what is probably an age old question - to use a TV or a projector for displaying content - mainly web pages.

The clarity of a large wall mounted TV is the reason for considering it, but a projector may be a more flexible solution.

TV - no projector bulbs. Projector - NO TV licence fee.

And so on.

Appreciate you experiences.

Many Thanks

David

David

This week I am working in a room with a 42" plasma TV. First question to ask is how is it for the participants?

42" is huge in a living room but even in this small (cosy) training room, the screen is too small.

From a trainer point of view, get a good quality ceiling mounted projector.

Hi David,

I'd be inclined to agree with Mike - how is it for the delegates?

That said, i've always been a projector fan, don't think you can go too wrong with it. Like you say, it's a more flexible solution.

Louis, I can't help asking what it's like to be a projector fan?  Does it feel like you're constantly working just to keep things cool?

John, thanks for the message.

I guess it's always a case of each to their own - really depends on what you're aiming for and who the target audience is. Various factors to consider. Sometimes the sound can be a tad off depending on the quality, but I find it a good viewing experience and you have a few screen options. Not to mention the price too!

Thanks for your replies.

The room is for up to 8 delegates which makes a tv practicable.

However, we are now veering towards a project as the more flexible solution.

Thanks again
